February 2014 Empties

February has considerably less days than the 11 other months in the year and yet, I've some how managed to go through considerably more product than I usually do in the longer months.

Makeup

I did like this more than just the Urban Decay version, but I don't feel that it kept my oily skin at bay. Although, I did notice my makeup lasting longer throughout the day. I would definitely repurchase from Skindinavia, but maybe not this specific one.

I hate EOS lip balms. I, just like so many others, fell for the YouTube gurus going crazy for them so I bought them and then hated them. They don't moisturize my lips at all. I'm so glad for this to be the last of my EOS lipbalms. I'll never buy again.

I used up a lot of samples this month. First one is this silicone feeling primer from Tarte. I really don't like silicone feeling primers, so I really didn't like this primer. I'm glad to have tried it though.

I love the packing on this mascara - so sleek! But the product is not great. It's too wet of a mascara and it would flake off throughout the day. I'm glad I got this sample for free, I won't be spending money on it any time soon.

Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara

I love and hate this mascara in full size and hate it in sample/travel sized. It is a dry formula, which I love, and it really does lengthen and thicken my lashes. The sample sized one is great for like two days and then it gets awful. But, because it is such a dry formula, it doesn't last as long as say a mascara that starts off somewhat wet and dries out over time.

This mascara has a wonky brush. It's super twisty. Other than that the formula is awesome! But, after a week, this small version became super clumpy. I would totally think about picking up the full sized somewhere down the line.

This was definitely my favorite mascara I tried over the month. I loved the formula. I loved the magic it did to my eyelashes. But, I hated the brush. If it weren't for the brush, I probably would have bought the full sized one by now.

Buxom Buxom Lash

I love this mascara in both small and big. No complaints whatsoever. But, I think I'm going to try out some drug store brands before I go back to buying high end.

Skincare

I actually had finished this a few months ago, I was just using the bottle to hold another toner that didn't have as great packaging. I don't think this "effectively treats and helps prevent breakouts without overdrying" as it claims. I'm happy to be done with it and finally able to throw it out.

I used to use this, when I used the whole Clinique 3-Step system, and it worked for me then so I thought it would work for me now. I didn't notice much of a difference. I won't be repurchasing.

I really liked this cleanser. It was super gentle and it really cleaned my face without giving me that squeaky clean feeling. If it weren't so expensive, I might pick it up again.

No, I'm not pregnant. These are seriously my secret formula to good skin. I didn't necessarily like this gummy version, as it was coated in sugar.

I loved this stuff for so long. I started using it in college and never looked back. This 32oz bottle I bought during a Nordstrom Sale or a Sephora sale lasted me maybe two years? I highly suggest it to everyone! But, I won't be repurchasing it, at least any time soon, as I'm trying out a few different cleansers right now.

I'm not a big fan of this mask. For a long time it stung my skin when I would put it on. I don't think it ever really exfoliated. I think there are a lot of better masks on the market for much better prices.

I did not like this mask. It was difficult to pull off and I don't think it really had any brightening properties.

Again, not happy with these Boscia masks. I know this differs from a previous opinion of mine, but these are difficult to pull off, sometimes painful. Happy to be done with it.

I really liked this, I hated the packaging, but really enjoyed the oil. It was moisturizing without being heavy.

I picked up one packet as a sample from Ulta and I hoped I would really like this. I used it and loved the instant results, but when I got out of the shower, 20 minutes later, all of those results were gone. I'm glad I didn't spend any money on this.

Kiehl's Skin Rescuer

I was dying to try this for the longest time. And I'm glad I finally got to. It makes for a great moisturizer, light, moisturizing, but I can't say I saw any of the stress-minimizing properties.

I tried this as a light exfoliator since I stopped using the St. Ives Apricot Scrub, but this didn't do much for me. I used it for three months, and it's time to dispose of it.

Hair

This helped me on my way to dandruff free hair! I would rebuy this in a hearbeat!

Bumble and Bumble Surf Foam Wash Shampoo and Creme Rinse Conditioner

I have had these shampoos for almost a year. That's how long it took me to get through them. I know I said I like them way back when, but at the end of the day I didn't. They were drying, I had to mix the conditioner with some It's A 10 to get some amount of moisture in my hair or else I would just have the worst knots all of the time. I'm happy to finally see these go.

Love this. I have gone through a zillion bottles. I look forward to bottle zillion-and-one

Body

Peter Thomas Roth Mega Rich Body Lotion

The last of the lotions I took from the hotel in Hawaii. I like this lotion a lot. I would definitely take it from a hotel again.

I like this lotion a lot, but I am not sure that I see it's skin firming qualities.

This is so hydrating. It really came in handy during those few weeks when it was so dry and my skin was taking a beating. Loved it.

I needed deodorant. This was in the cupboard. It got the job done.

I love the scent of this and all of Origins ginger scented products. I was using this to exfoliate my legs before I shaved, for a longer and closer shave. Towards the end of the bottle it was difficult to get the product out. The price is too steep for me to think about picking up again, but I will be dreaming of this scent for years to come.

Swedish Dream Sea Salt Soap

This is amy favorite way to shave my legs. I just need to make my way to South Coast Plaza to pick up another one.

My cousin gave this to me for Christmas and I loved it. It smells like Sweet Tarts. LOVE

Dental

I loved this stuff, still have two more bottles of it sitting in my bathroom, not counting the one that already in use sitting on my counter.

I really liked these strips, I definitely have seen a long term difference in the color of my teeth. I will admit for a little while it did make my teeth a bit sensetive, so those with already sensetive teeth may want to stay away.

Candles

Yankee Candle Sparkling Snow

I might have bought this almost two years ago? It has a fresh scent with a bit of pine? I would buy this again next winter.

Meyer's Clean Day Orange Clove

Who knew Meyer's has candles? This is a very Christmas-y scent. I'd pick it up again I think.

    1. Thanks! I would love to not finish anything in a month! That would mean so much more money not having gone down the drain - literally

    1. Three Minute Miracle is a life saver in a bottle. I am sure I have gone through dozens of these over the years. You really can't beat them for how inexpensive they are!
